New Look selects Metrocentre for largest-ever concept store

The regeneration arm of the council has been working with GSSArchitecture on proposals for Cramlington’s shopping centre. 

Stockton-on-Tees has approved 243 homes to be delivered by Stonebridge on 37 acres at Fallows Park on land north of Tees Valley Court.

The North of England contractor saw 2025 pre-tax profits rise to £15m, up from £5m in the previous year, while turnover grew by 17% to £311m, marking the strongest financial performance in the company’s history.

The firm will advise on the commercial aspects of campus estate masterplanning, with the first disposal already on the market. 

Fashion brands Hollister and Timberland have moved into the shopping centre, with the former taking 6,000 sq ft to create its largest regional offering, and the latter opening its first North East store. 

The three North East industrial deals total 175,000 sq ft and span manufacturing, leisure, and logistics. 

Works are progressing on the grade two-listed 16 Barrington Street in South Shields, with the Victorian landmark set to provide office accommodation and form a gateway to the new South Tyneside College and South Shields Marine School campus once complete.

Loungers has submitted a licencing application to bring Varo Lounge to the now fully occupied Keel Square, while a pair of restaurateurs are preparing to open pizza venue No.32 and Riverside Café at The Beam.
