Invest Newcastle launches MIPIM campaign
NewcastleGateshead Initiative has led delegations to the exhibition since 2015, and next year will be joined by Newcastle City Council, Gateshead Council, and private companies such as Ryder Architecture, Avison Young, NCG, Eldon Square, and Gainford Group.
An event held by Invest Newcastle, part of NGI, at the Glasshouse International Centre for Music earlier this week outlined the delegation’s plans for promoting the region at the international event.
NGI will focus on showcasing major projects and investment opportunities from the city, and highlight schemes that are approaching completion, such as Pilgrim Street.
As well as promoting investment-ready sites, emphasis will be placed on the city’s collaborative focus.
NGI’s programme will include panel discussions, presentations, and networking events at the Invest Newcastle pavilion.
Sarah Green, chief executive of NGI, said: “MIPIM is a powerful platform to showcase our incredible potential on a global stage. By bringing together public and private sector partners, we amplify the message that Newcastle and Gateshead are destinations for ambitious and transformative investment.”
Michelle Percy, director of investment and growth at NCC said: “Newcastle’s transformation over the years is a testament to our strong working relationships across sectors and MIPIM provides us with a unique opportunity to present the city’s exceptional assets and opportunities directly to investors and influencers.
“By working in close partnership with our business community and NGI, we can ensure that Newcastle remains at the forefront of sustainable urban growth.”
Anneliese Hutchinson, strategic director for economy, innovation and growth, Gateshead Council, said: “We believe Gateshead is on the cusp of significant, sustainable growth.
“We have clear, deliverable regeneration plans that are bringing a lot of great sites to the market, and MIPIM allows us to directly engage with investors and developers on these opportunities.
“It’s a chance to not only attract investment but to build relationships that ultimately allow everyone to achieve their economic, social, and environmental aspirations.”
