Collaboration and partnership were reoccurring themes as local authorities, developers, architects, planners and more gathered to learn more about Place’s plans for the global property conference in March.

“We are thrilled to be leading the charge for the first-ever, pan-Northern delegation at MIPIM,” said Dino Moutsopoulos, managing partner and head of commercial at Place North. “Our region is truly a powerhouse and Place North is ready to provide it the spotlight it rightly deserves.”

“That is why we have arranged a series of packages geared towards amplifying the North’s messages regarding investment and development opportunities, while showcasing the very best of the private sector that are working across the North of England,” he continued.

The Place North MIPIM 2025 preview and sale launch event was held at Eden in Salford. The building itself continued the partnership theme, as it was delivered by ECF – a consortium of Muse, Homes England, and Legal & General – with input from Salford City Council.

Phil Marsden, Muse managing director for the North West, welcomed the crowd to the building and the event. “Eden is a building we’re incredibly proud of,” he said.

Moutsopoulos then took to the stage to describe Place’s MIPIM offerings for 2025:

  • A dedicated stand for the North of England, offering a showcase for partners to promote investment opportunities, development plans, and client services
  • Reduced-rate MIPIM passes as part of our partner packages
  • Events on the UK Hub stage that will allow your organisation to be at the very heart of the conversation
  • Exclusive, invitation-only events in Cannes during MIPIM week
  • Expert guidance on how to prepare for MIPIM through our How To Do MIPIM Well event
  • Access to comprehensive, exclusive data insight from our MIPM content

Speaking afterwards, Moutsopoulos said: “We want to ensure that every town and city in the North has a chance to reach the global audience at MIPIM, which is why we are offering discounted tickets and featuring a Northern stand in the UK Pavilion.

“This is an opportunity for organisations of all sizes to have the support of Place North to help navigate MIPIM.

“Partnering with Place helps you make the most of the convention, with the perfect mix of publicity, networking opportunities, and practical on-the-ground introductions.”

Tom Stannard, chief executive for Salford City Council, was the final speaker for the day. He gave the local authority’s perspective on MIPIM: “We have a good time there, but we have a productive time there and the reason it’s productive is because of the partnerships that sit behind it: the private sector partnerships, the strength of the intra-authority partnerships in the public sector, particularly the partnerships we have with the media platforms that are there as serious players in the industry who know what they’re doing.”

Stannard added later: “Navigating your way around a productive network at MIPIM requires serious hard work… Having capable navigators around you and your organisation is really important and Place North will help to bring that to the table.”
