Bellway partners with Regeneration Brainery
The housebuilder and the youth mobility charity have teamed up in an effort to encourage young people to choose a career in property, with Bellway set to host the first North East workshop at its head office in Newcastle.
Regeneration Brainery was set up in 2017 and since then has hosted numerous workshops for more than 6,000 young people, aiding social mobility by highlighting construction industry career options.
As well as hosting a workshop, Bellway Homes is offering work placements that will highlight its apprenticeship and graduate programmes.
Currently, more than 7% of Bellway’s 2,800 employees are in ‘earn and learn’ roles, and this programme will allow the housebuilder to increase that number.
Heidi Khoshtaghaza, group HR director at Bellway, said: “As an Employer of Choice, we realise the importance of encouraging young people into the housebuilding sector, and through this partnership, we are able to showcase the variety of roles within our business to a diverse audience, who otherwise might not realise the career opportunities available.”
Michele Steel, chief executive of Regeneration Brainery, said: “Our new partnership with Bellway comes as Regeneration Brainery’s programme expands across the UK, and we work with more young people to open up access to opportunity through careers in property and the built environment.
“As a five-star housebuilder with a massive focus on finding and nurturing new talent, they’re the perfect partner to join us in our mission of a more diverse industry with more opportunity for social mobility.”
