Countryside cracks on with Redcar resi
Planning permission has been granted for the 200-home third phase of the £119m Kirkleatham Green development, led by Homes England.
The national housing agency selected Countryside Partnerships North East – which is already working on 375 homes and a specialist residential village of 75 homes in phases one and two – to deliver the third phase in April this year, with plans being submitted in April.
In all, the scheme will see 204 mixed-tenure homes delivered. Work will begin next month on a scheme that will include affordable homes, homes for private rent and homes for open market sale through the Linden Homes brand.

The housebuilder said that key to securing this latest contract, it has risen to Homes England’s challenge to build homes at pace without compromising on quality, enabling residents to move in quickly.
Adopting the same mixed tenure approach to this £44m third phase will allow this successful model to continue, the firm said.
Development partners to manage the affordable and private sector rental properties will be announced in due course. Autumn 2024 is the target move-in date for the first residents. Some phase one residents have already moved into the wider development.

“Whether people are looking to buy outright, to rent privately or to access supported housing options – through means such as affordable rent, shared ownership or in an extra care setting – there will be options and opportunities available.”
Countryside Partnerships North East is currently active on 12 construction sites around the North East region with a gross development value of £440m. The firm is working with eight housing associations and seven local authorities.
Projects in and around Teesside include Bracken Grange, a 330-homes mixed tenure scheme in Middlesbrough and the creation of an 83-unit care facility, in Guisborough, for registered provider Housing 21.
